Mortgage for a client coming to the end of their interest only mortgage

Our clients, who only receive pension income, had 1 year remaining on their interest only mortgage and they had been told by their current lender that they would have to sell their house if they could not repay the balance. We were able to increase their mortgage term by 14 years and it was affordable to switch the mortgage on to a repayment mortgage. Therefore, they would repay capital and interest and the balance would be repaid in 14 years. The clients were overjoyed by this outcome and they were able to continue living in their home!

Our client is a journalist and works for a newspaper on a contract basis. They pay him a day rate and pay his tax. Most lenders assess contract workers as self – employed but we know that some lenders would assess this on an employed basis. We were able to place this mortgage when he had been told by other brokers that this wasn’t possible! We can help with employed and self – employed contractors.
